COLIQUIN for the treatment of colibacillosis COLIQUIN is an antibacterial combination of Flumequin and Colistin. Flumequin acts by inhibiting DNA gyrase enzyme which mediates negative supercoiling of double stranded DNA, thereby inhibiting DNA replication. Colistin acts by labilizing the cellular membrane of susceptible bacteria in gastrointestinal tract. This combination results in a fast and effective bactericidal action of COLIQUIN. Its primary activity is to exterminate Gram (-) bacteria, such as : Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp., and Pasteurella sp. in poultry. AMPICOL for the treatment of colibacillosis, fowl cholera & secondary bacterial infection AMPICOL consists of Ampicillin and Colistin antibiotics which work in synergy against Escherichia coli bacteria (the causal agent of colibacillosis) and Pasteurella multocida (the causal agent of fowl cholera). AMPICOL may be used for treatment of secondary bacterial infection in poultry which has been infected by Gumboro virus since AMPICOL is safe for kidneys and other organs.
